History

We appreciate your interest in the Manitoba Academy of Chinese Studies!

The Manitoba Academy of Chinese Studies (MACS) is a non-profit, non-sectarian and non-partisan organization. In 1974, MACS was founded in the City of Winnipeg, Manitoba, with the intention to promote Chinese culture within the context of Canadian multiculturalism Over the past thirty one years, MACS has expanded its programs to include a number of instructional classes, as well as a wide range of cultural activities.

The Manitoba Academy of Chinese Studies¡¯main objectives are:

	To elucidate and disseminate Chinese culture;
	To study and teach the Chinese Language and,
	To promote cooperation and friendship amongst Chinese-Manitobans.
